Nothing that surrounds us is an object, everything is a subject Through use, the object becomes subjectified.
"Subject" is a table lamp composed of an epoxy resin freestyle form resting on an aluminum base. This two-part lamp is designed to promote togetherness and the sharing of moments as a social interaction. Unlike conventional wireless or battery-operated lamps, the "Subject" lamp utilizes the smartphones of restaurant guests as its light source. Without a personal smartphone, the hollow form of "Subject" merely serves as an object on the table.
Crafted from a single epoxy resin cast, the lamp's coloration aims to express the warm and inviting ambiance of the bistro. The visual break is created by the minimalist aluminum table, housing the smartphone flashlight beneath. The work was done in collaboration with Nuria Imholz.
